Samsung’s homegrown digital assistant Bixby is generally seen as an unwelcome guest on the company’s desirable smartphones.

With the release of Samsung’s 2017 generation of smartphones, after much protest, the company allowed users to disable the dedicated Bixby button which would too often summon the assistant accidentally.

On the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung did not provide this feature, and the problem was made worse by the too sensitive buttons on the device which meant Bixby often made an appearance 20 times per day.

Now according to Samsung Germany’s twitter support, a solution may be coming.

According to Samsung Germany, a feature to disable to Bixby button may be coming before the end of September.

Given that complex technology to disable Bixby has already been developed, SamMobile speculates that Samsung merely wanted Note 9 buyers to have a month to re-familiarize themselves with the 2.0 version of Bixby and confirm that they still hated it after all.
