Recently we reported that Samsung might be beaten by Huawei who announced that they’re launching a device with a camera cutout on 17th December. However, it looks like Samsung might be leading the game after all.

Samsung recently showcased several design ideas which incorporated the camera on the screen without adding the notch on the top. Chinese OEM, Huawei was the first one to publish a teaser showcasing the upcoming Huawei Nova 4 which had a hole on the top left corner for the camera.

Unfortunately for Huawei, Samsung was just waiting for the right moment as the company has a poster showcasing Galaxy A8 which will incorporate the same design and will launch a week earlier. Samsung will launch Galaxy A8 on 10th December followed by Huawei who will launch Nova 4 on 17th December.

Trusted Samsung leaker, Ice Universe also got his hands on the FCC filing of Galaxy A8 which shows the render of the device and how the Samsung’s UI will look like with the camera hole. While Galaxy A series is a mid-range series from Samsung, we might see A8 to be priced more than other A series devices. Samsung is supposed to launch the device on 10th December. We don’t have any word on when it will be available in all the countries.
