Microsoft has gone strong on backward compatibility this E3. With new original Xbox games, new Xbox 360 games, and the return of Too Human, is that everything Microsoft can muster? Definitely not: now new Rare games have been Xbox One X enhanced.

Announced during Xbox’s Inside Xbox E3 show, alongside the new Xbox gamertags and backward compatible titles, Microsoft also announced that some classic Rare games will now look better on Xbox One X consoles.

Firstly, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo Tooie will be enhanced for the beefed-up 6-teraflop machine. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts will also be enhanced. Also, it’s a fantastic game; I’m willing to die on this hill.

Joanna Dark already saw an amazing glow-up with her fantastic 2010 Xbox 360 remake. If you’re an Xbox One X owner, however, you’ll be able to experience the Perfect Dark experience in glorious 4K!  The much naffer Perfect Dark Zero is also enhanced.

If you cast your minds back to 2005, you might remember a certain 360 launch title, Kameo: Element of Power. If you’ve forgotten about it, we wouldn’t blame you, it’s a bit naff. However, the title is now X-enhanced for Xbox One X. Did you know that game was supposed to be an original Xbox game? I did! I’ve played it!

The already gorgeous Viva Pinata and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is also getting its Ks enhanced by four if you know what I mean. If you don’t, I mean it’ll be playable in 4K resolution.

All of these games are available to purchase in the fantastic compilation Rare Replay. If you want to play all of these games in a fantastic collection, pick it up here on Xbox One. Rare Replay costs just £19.99/$29.99. If you don’t already own it, you should probably get it!
