In an interview with Bloomberg, Windows Phone division head Andy Lees has told that Qualcomm to remain exclusive semiconductor provider for Windows Phones for now. Earlier it was reported that chip makers like Nvidia, TI are working on bringing chipsets to support Windows Phone platform but it turns out to be not true.

Microsoft works exclusively with Qualcomm to develop chips that power handsets using its system, allowing it to specify technical details to ensure devices run more smoothly, the executive said.

There is currently no plan to work with other semiconductor makers for Windows Phone 7 devices, he said.

Andy Lees also added that Windows Phone devices price will be lot cheaper from now on because of the lowering productions costs. Another way they are bringing the  device cost down is by going  high volume in production.
