Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation have announced that PUBG Mobile currently has over 50 million active daily players and has reached over 400 million downloads.
To celebrate this landmark, the game is receiving an update that introduces a new map, special custom skins, a brand new 4v4 Deathmatch mode, and various other features in update 0.13.0.
Update 0.13.0 also adds separate control schemes for first and third person modes along with an enhanced third-party cheat prevention system. There’s also a new MVP showcase system, so you can see where you rank.
These download and player numbers are for outside of China, of course, as PUBG Mobile in China has been replaced with a ‘friendlier’ alternative. The original PUBG Mobile was pulled from Chinese storefronts in May.
PUBG Mobile is the iOS and Android version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, an online multiplayer battle royale game. In the game, up to one hundred players have to battle it out to stay alive.
Players have the option to fight solo, in pairs, or in a team of up to four people. You can find items as they spawn on the map or you can loot dead players for their weapons.
You can download PUBG on the Apple App Store here and on the Google Play Store here. They’re both free to play, so get in on the action while you can!
