Project Scorpio is going to be the next system in the Xbox line, and it’s intended to be the most powerful console ever made. It was originally announced all the way back at E3 2016 with a teaser trailer, a release window of Holiday 2017, and some basic details on its goals. It seemed to be an attempt to counter Sony’s PS4 Pro (which was then called the PS4 Neo) which was expected to appear at the Sony’s show later that day – and didn’t show up.

It was a moment where Microsoft shot from the hip and still hit a target, even if it turned out that they didn’t necessarily have to. Discussion and speculation about Scorpio dominated social media for a while, and now we’re even seeing games announce that they’ll be optimized for the improvements Scorpio brings to the table.

Scorpio now has a page in the Microsoft Store as well, but despite what the title of the tab tells you, pre-ordering isn’t possible. It’s a pretty standard page that features all of the information that was announced at E3 last year, as well as a simple button to get an email when the product becomes available.

There’s no reason to believe at the moment that Microsoft will unveil the price of the system before E3 2017, but we expect that just about every detail about Scorpio we don’t already know will end up getting released on the Sunday before the main event, which is a day that Microsoft has almost entirely to themselves.

You can view Project Scorpio’s Microsoft Store page here.
