After tasting success on iOS, Mac, and Android, the DuckDuckGo web browser has finally made its debut on Windows, bringing lots of features aimed at privacy-focused users. The web browser is now available for Windows users as a public beta, meaning anyone running Windows can download and install it on their PC.

DuckDuckGo web browser is known for its privacy-focused features. The web browser can bypass the trackers and provide a faster web browsing experience while protecting your privacy. It can also block ads in YouTube videos, thus offering you an interrupted viewing experience on the video-sharing platform and preventing privacy breaches. DuckDuckGo has a built-in video player called Duck Player that prevents ads from appearing on YouTube videos.

Moreover, DuckDuckGo can hide cookie consent pop-ups thanks to its intelligent Cookie Pop-up Management. It also has what the company calls a “Fire Button,” which can clear your recent browsing data in one click. Email Protection is another unique capability that will hide your email address with unique “@duck.com” addresses. What an @duck.com email address does is it filters out hidden email trackers before forwarding them to your personal inbox.

However, while DuckDuckGo for Windows has most of the features available for Mac users, the company has more work to do to achieve feature parity with its macOS client. For example, private password and bookmark syncing are two major features not available for DuckDuckGo for Windows at launch. The good news is those functionalities are “coming soon,” as the company’s official blog post stated. The company has also promised to bring features such as faster startup performance, the ability to pin tabs, HTML bookmark import, more options for the Fire Button, Fingerprinting Protection, Link Tracking Protection, and Referrer Tracking Protection to DuckDuckGo for Windows.

DuckDuckGo encourages everyone using the browser on Windows to provide valuable feedback to improve the web browser. You can download DuckDuckGo for Windows from the official website if you haven’t downloaded it yet.

Meanwhile, you can share your thoughts about the privacy-focussed DuckDuckGo browser in the comments.
