One of the stand-out features of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is the Windows Hello Iris scanner.

The feature has however been criticized for being slow and awkward to use. On my own Lumia 950 XL it has been relegated to unlocking my device mainly when my hands are full, largely because in most cases when I want to check my phone quickly I dont particularly went to spend 3 seconds looking at the red light vs 1.5 seconds typing in my PIN.

Microsoft’s new low-end handsets are replacing the Iris scanner with a front-facing flash. Will those owners be missing anything or is the Iris scanner a gimmick? Let us know in the poll below.
