Atlus posted a very short teaser trailer on their YouTube channel (atlustube) today, titled “P5R Notice” in English.

Despite being only 30 seconds long, the trailer opens with a PlayStation 4 logo, promises “new projects”, and teases the date of “2019.3”. People have taken this to mean that more information on P5R, or Persona 5 R, will be released in March 2019.

The end of the video tells people to visit p5r.jp. Visiting the website shows a Persona 5 style website with a banner stating “NEXT INFORMATION 2019.3” at the top.

Going off the clues provided in the video, the most likely guess is that P5R is going to be an enhanced version of Persona 5 in a similar vein to Persona 4 Golden being an enhanced version of Persona 4. It’s important to note that the name of the project has not been confirmed and Atlus are referring to it solely as “P5R”.

We previously reported on rumors of a Persona 5 port for Switch. There’s still a chance that P5R could wind up being an enhanced re-release of Persona 5 that’s slated to be released on more than one console, similar to the remake of Crash Team Racing.
