If any readers have been carrying a torch for the Opera mobile browser on Windows Phone, now may be a good time to drop it, as it seems the company is not currently working (or seemingly planning to work) on an Opera browser for Windows Phone.

The news was revealed by Vera Lasam-Bergtun, Social Media Coordinator at Opera Software, while unveiling the latest version of Opera Mini for Blackberry 7.

Of course while another browser engine on Windows Phone would be appreciated, there is no shortage of alternate browser shells with very high levels of feature sets, like UC Browser,  so I am not sure too many are still waiting for the Oslo-based browser to show up on Windows Phone.
