The remastered edition of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is set to launch on May 23, 2025, offering both long-time fans and newcomers an enhanced version of the classic survival horror game. Originally released in 2002, the remaster stays true to the game’s roots, keeping the thrilling swordplay, gripping story, and samurai charm, while adding modern upgrades to make it more accessible to today’s players.

Players will once again step into the shoes of Jubei Yagyu as he battles the undead warlord Nobunaga Oda and his demon army. The remastered edition of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny features updated visuals with HD resolution and 60FPS performance, delivering a smoother and more immersive experience. New quality-of-life improvements, like optional cutscene skips, auto-save, and modernized controls, ensure that both new players and returning fans can enjoy the game without frustration.

The affinity system, swordplay mechanics, and beautiful music are all intact, though some alterations, such as the opportunity to decide when to transform into an Onimusha, serve to enhance the experience.

Onimusha 2 arrives on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility, with pre-orders already available on the Microsoft Store. The new remaster will bring back memories while also allowing a younger audience to experience one of the most well-loved titles.
