OneDrive Premium has just added a new feature which increases the security for file sharing using their service.

“Expiring Links” lets you create a sharing link which becomes non-functional after a set period, such as a number of days, which is useful if the medium you share with, such as email, may be archived or forwarded to other parties. It does not, of course, prevent the original media which has already been downloaded from being shared further, so should only be used as a further layer of information security.

The feature is already available on OneDrive for Business and is not available for OneDrive Storage-only plans, who only have 50 GB rather than 1 TB of storage.

If the feature sounds useful to you, you can upgrade your OneDrive plan here.
