Office for Android May 2018 updated with new features now available for Insiders

Microsoft is today releasing a preview of the May 2018 update for its Office apps on Android. The company today started rolling out updates to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to Office Insiders with a couple of new features. This month’s updates bring new security features after a number of exploits using malicious links in Office documents have been found in the wild. It also brings better live collaboration and some minor UI improvements.

Here’s the changelog:

  • Word
    • Work better with others in real time – See where others are working and view changes as they type.
    • Click more confidently – Word helps block malicious links in Office documents to keep you safer.
    • Adding a blank page got easier – Insert a blank page to your document with just one click.
  • Excel
    • Click more confidently – Excel helps block malicious links in Office documents to keep you safer.
  • PowerPoint
    • Click more confidently – PowerPoint helps block malicious links in Office documents to keep you safer.
    • Animation on the small screen – Add animations to your slides on your mobile device.
