Microsoft today announced a new feature on Skype that will make it easier than ever for you to connect with anyone on Skype, without even creating an account or downloading the Skype client. By joining Skype as a Guest, users can quickly chat, voice or video call without any hassle.

How to use this feature?

  • To get started, go to Skype.com, tap start a conversation and add your name.
  • You will then be provided with a unique conversation link.
  • You can share this link with your contacts—either individually or as a group—via email or via your social networks.
  • Once they click on the link, they’ll be able to join your conversation immediately. They can also join as a Guest if they’re using Skype for Web.

Skype for web supports many features including the one to one and group instant messaging, voice and video calls, screen sharing and even file sharing. Microsoft highlighted that you can invite up to 300 people to chat and up to 25 people on a voice or video call, all for free.

The conversations you have using Skype as a Guest will last for 24 hours. Go to Skype.com to give it a try.
