Nokia To Rebrand Ovi Services As Nokia Services

Nokia to drop Ovi Services brand by in July and August. The ‘Ovi’ brand will be replaced by ‘Nokia’, all the current Ovi services will be rebranded as Nokia services.

Nokia’s EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Jerri DeVard on the rebranding,

“We have made the decision to change our service branding from Ovi to Nokia. By centralizing our services identity under one brand, not two, we will reinforce the powerful master brand of Nokia and unify our brand architecture – while continuing to deliver compellingopportunities and experiences for partners and consumers alike.”

So Ovi Maps will be now Nokia Maps,Ovi Store will be Nokia Store,etc,.The transition from Ovi to Nokia will begin in July this year and the transition will be completed by end of 2012. Also Nokia confirmed that its just a name change and none of the products planned and currently delivered will be changed.
