After reporting poor financial results earlier today, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop made few statements about the competition for Nokia Lumia devices. Elop said that “The price point of Android devices from a variety of manufacturers is quickly being pushed down,” and obviously it must be one of the reason that led to poor sales of Lumia devices in Europe and emerging markets. Elop further added that “A very clear part of our strategy is to drive the prices of our Lumia devices deeply down, so we can compete effectively,”. So expect some deep discounts on current Lumia devices and some ultra cheap Lumia Windows Phone devices such as Nokia Lumia 610 soon.
