Nokia scores a big win in Spain

Nokia has been making a big deal about their enterprise push in UK, where they claim to have at least 17% of the market with their Lumia handsets, but it seems the rest of Nokia is working just as hard to get their handsets in the hands of the working population.

In a press release Nokia announced that CaixaBank, a leading financial group in the Spanish market both in banking and insurance, has chosen Nokia as the preferred provider of smartphones for its employees.

The group has agreed to deploy 30,000 Nokia Lumia 925 or better handsets and will include a special program for employees which will also provide them with the opportunity to acquire Nokia devices for their personal usage, as well as for family and friends.

Reyes Justrib,  General Manager for Nokia in Iberia, notes the win was due to collaboration between all Caixabank, Nokia and Microsoft, and was aimed at  deliver a customized solution for CaixaBank covering all their requirements and which allow them to manage it for the future in a coordinated way.

The Nokia Lumia 925 was chosen for a first phase after having been used in various testing programs with the option to upgrade to new Lumia models in the future. A special program for employees will also provide them with the opportunity to acquire Nokia devices for their personal usage, as well as for family and friends.

The Nokia Lumia 925 offers outstanding hardware with its thin and light aluminum structure around a PureMotion HD+ 4.5 inch screen. Its 8.7 megapixel camera with PureView technology and six ZEISS lenses with Optical Image Stabilization provide the highest photo and video quality. Complementing this, the capabilities of the Windows Phone operating system provide security and management levels in line with CaixaBank needs:

– Encryption of information, isolation between applications and embedded

anti-malware protection

– Support for new ways of interacting with banking services using NFC (Near
