Benchmarking site Rightware seems to have managed to get their hands on the results of their GP benchmark for the iPhone 6, and for those about to shell out $300 for the mandatory 64 GB model the news will come as somewhat of a disappointment.

Apple’s latest 64bit monster appears to perform pretty poorly, ranking 16th in the list, just below the LG Nexus 5, and only slightly ahead of the iPhone 5S.

Interestingly it is two Windows Phones which top the list, with the Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon’s Adreno 330 processor doing a very good job, probably unencumbered by unnecessary transparency layers running in the background.

Of course the benchmark numbers simply join other “new” 2012 features like the 720P screen and NFC which Apple fans are happy to pay for. sheep
