We saw the 5000 Euro Lehmann Aviation LA300 Drone platform which uses a Nokia Lumia 1020 to capture high resolution pictures.

Now Hothardware decided to see if a slightly cheaper platform can get the same results, and launched the Nokia Lumia 1020 on a much more reasonably priced AR.Drone.

The results are interesting, but I think it is clear the Nokia Lumia 1020’s autofocus are not exactly made for the rapidly vibrating platform – while the video was of course very steady, the focus was often off.

I guess those who want to get high resolution aerial imaging are going to need to dig a bit deeper into their wallets after all.
