A new Preview Alpha build that released for Xbox One Insiders today has added the ability to schedule your themes. This comes shortly after another Alpha build earlier in the week that allowed Insiders to test a Do Not Disturb feature.

Preview Alpha buildĀ 1802.180109-1916 going out today contains both new features and bug fixes, the biggest of which may be the addition of Scheduled Themes, letting people put their light/dark themes on a schedule for them to automatically switch. The changelog from Xbox’s official forums can be read below.

NEW FEATURES:

ā€¢ Scheduled Themes

You askedā€”we listened! We’re excited to announce that we’ve added the ability to put your themes on a schedule. In addition to choosing either the light or dark theme, you can now schedule a time to automatically switch between them. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Theme & motion.
  2. Select Scheduled from the “System theme” dropdown.
  3. Select the times at which you want the light theme to start and end.

ā€¢ Guide Enhancements

A new icon will appear in the Guide. The Guide Game Pass Discovery Tile (the ā€œSurprise me with a random Game Pass Game tileā€), now shows in Guide.

FIXES:

ā€¢ Screenshots

Fixed an issue which sometimes caused screenshots to fail to display in Report a problem or on the console.

ā€¢ Party Chat

Party chat is now fixed to not crash when in the Guide.

To download this update manually, launch the Guide and go toĀ All Settings > System > Updates. If your system is inĀ Instant On mode and you have been selected to receive the update, it will do so automatically.
