A new Xbox One build is rolling out to Beta Insiders tonight. While the update doesn’t add any significant features, it fixes a lot of issues. Unfortunately, with this latest build comes troubling news. Yesterday, Microsoft decided to push back the release date of custom gamerpics to all Alpha Insiders by a week, it appears that Beta Insiders will have to wait longer too because the feature needs thorough testing before it can be available to everyone. The changes and known issues in today’s Beta build are as follows:

Preview BETA Ring – new build available at 6.00pm PDT today.

Welcome to 1704 on Xbox One!

An ETA on Custom gamerpics being turned on for the BETA ring is TBD.

HOW TO GET IT

• If your console is in Instant-On mode and you have been selected to receive the update, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

• NOTE: Once the update is available to you, you can manually begin the update by launching the Guide and navigating to All Settings > System > Updates.

• If you have been selected to receive the update and your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 1:00 AM PDT 4/5/2017, you will be prompted to do so at that time.

FIXES: • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous fixes and improvements

KNOWN ISSUES:

• Settings – Display & sound

The Audio output page is under construction and some of the new settings are not yet functional. New support is planned for Dolby Atmos for home theater, Dolby Atmos for headphones, and more in upcoming builds. An announcement will be made when these new features are ready to try out; enabling these settings now will have no effect.

• Wireless Display

The Wireless Display app fails to launch and immediately crashes to Home.

Hopefully Microsoft will iron out the problems with custom gamerpics so that everyone has access to them soon. Gamers have been waiting patiently for years. Apart from that, great progress is being made towards the next Xbox One update so that’s always encouraging news.
