We recently reported that WhatsApp is working on a Reply in Private feature for the Web version of their app.  Now WABetaInfo reports the feature has arrived for public testing first on the WhatsApp Beta app for Windows Phone.

Version 2.17.342.0 of the app lets users who are taking part in a group chat reply to a public message in a 1:1 chat while quoting the message there, which I am sure will only encourage more rampant gossiping 😉

The update also brings a new design for voice and video calls which can be seen below.

The update also contains some hidden features which WhatsApp is still to enable.

These include a new “Quick Switch” button which would let users easily change a voice into a video call without interruption and a new “Advanced Group Settings” option which would let group admins delegate some admin privileges such as changing the group topic and icon, and also let admins disable chat and block messages.

The current version of the WhatsApp beta app for Windows Phone is available from the store link below.
