New Samsung Windows Phone Device Omnia W Announced

Samsung today announced its third Windows Phone Mango device called Omnia W targeting the mid-tier smartphone range. The device which will be competitively priced will have 1.4GHz processor and front cam. The device will be released in Italy from end of October followed by other markets.

SEOUL (MarketWatch) — Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday it will launch a new smartphone running on Microsoft Corp.’s Windows operating system from the end of next month.

The upcoming Omnia W, which will be powered by Windows Phone Mango software, is a 3.7-inch device and touts a 1.4 GHz processor, Samsung said in a statement.

The device will be commercially available from the end of next month, starting in Italy. It will be then be gradually launched elsewhere globally, Samsung added.
