Microsoft’s David Treadwell is reportedly leaving the software giant. According to the folks at GeekWireTreadwell will be joining Amazon after 27 years at Microsoft. At Microsoft, Treadwell was leading the identity team since September 2015 — however, Microsoft’s Joy Chik will take over Treadwell’s position. In an email to his colleagues, Treadwell stated:

“As sometimes happens in life, an opportunity unexpectedly came up to pursue a different but compelling agenda in a different tech problem space than I’ve done at Microsoft. After much thought about how I want to grow and challenge myself, I decided to go for it.”

It will be interesting to see what David Treadwell will be working on at Amazon. Treadwell was one of the key members in the Windows team at Microsoft in the past. Treadwell also worked on Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, so he could be working on Amazon’s cloud business going forward.
