Microsoft provided the Browser Choice update in accordance with a decision issued by the European Commission in December 2009. In EU countries, during Windows PC Setup, users were allowed to choose their browser to install. The obligations imposed by that decision have expired and as a result the Browser Choice Update will no longer be delivered to new users. Internet Explorer will be the default browser in Windows OS going forward and it will come pre-installed. Also, the famous Browserchoice.eu  website will no longer offer download links to other web browsers.
This website was created by Microsoft in accordance with a decision issued by the European Commission in December 2009. The obligations imposed by the decision have now expired and Microsoft will no longer maintain this website. Microsoft encourages customers who want more information about web browsers or want to download another browser to do so by visiting the websites of web browser vendors directly.
