Microsoft’s hardware event, which is all set to take place on October 2, will see plenty of new devices getting launched. Aside from the Centaurus, one of the most interesting products that Microsoft is going to launch is the 15-inch Surface laptop 3. Now, according to non-public databases of European retailers, the 15-inch model is going to be powered by an AMD CPU and not Intel Core.

On the other hand, all the variants with a 13.3-inch screen size will retain the Intel Core processor.

Although it’s not officially confirmed whether or not Microsoft is going to launch Surface laptop 3 with AMD processor, if ever the company brings it to the market, it’ll be Microsoft first laptop that ships with an AMD processor.

That said, the public databases of the European retailers did not provide any information regarding which AMD processor is going to power by the Laptop 3. Roland Quandt over at WinFutre had made some educated guesses and as per him, Microsoft’s third-generation Surface Laptop could come with AMD Ryzen 5 3550H or Ryzen 7 3750H processor.

Do you think it’d be a wise decision for Microsoft to choose AMD over Intel for the 15-inch Surface laptop 3? What could be the purpose? Sound off in the comments below.
