To meet the demands of businesses that requires a virtualized desktop experience, Microsoft last year announced the preview of Windows Virtual Desktop service during Ignite 2018 conference. The new Windows Virtual Desktop based on Azure is the only cloud-based service that delivers a multi-user Windows 10 experience. And the Windows Virtual Desktop client is available on Windows, Android, Mac, iOS, and HTML 5. Microsoft mentioned that Windows Virtual Desktop includes free Windows 7 Extended Security Updates. Thanks to FSLogix tools that are fully integrated into Windows Virtual Desktop, users will be able to enjoy smoothest, most performant Office virtualization experience. Today, Microsoft announced the general availability of this service worldwide.
