Microsoft Translator adds support for Tamil, a popular language in Indian subcontinent

Microsoft Translator today announced support for Tamil, a popular language that is spoken by over 70 million speakers throughout India and around the globe. It is one of the longest-surviving classical languages in the world. Tamil will be supported in several Microsoft Translator apps and add-ins.

Microsoft will support text translation to and from Tamil into over 60 languages. Users can translate web pages to Tamil from over 60 other languages using the Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Presentation Translator for PowerPoint will also support Tamil language allowing users to display live, translated subtitles in Tamil by speaking in one of the 10 supported speech translation languages.
