We are all pretty used to Cortana offering less services in countries other than USA, due to the time and effort it takes to localize a service.
Sometimes however it comes across as Microsoft simply being lazy. One such example is the News Interest in Cortana’s Notebook.
There you are able to search for Headlines in the News interest section, and then save this search for later, including being notified by push notifications of something important related to that search changes.
In our case its of course Windows Phone news, and when Cortana is set to US region and language the service works fine, offering useful headlines which often includes content from this site.
Venture across the Atlantic to UK however and it is very different. As can be seen in the first screen shot Cortana is now very happy to declare there is no related news at all.
The example is just another which shows how the Rest of the World is comparative underserved by the Windows Phone team. Hopefully the growing market share in places like Europe with convince Microsoft to invest more.
