Microsoft’s Build 2017 conference was quite revelatory and while the majority of the information was related to Windows 10 and its new design language, Xbox One snuck in some announcements too. As you all know, Microsoft Fluent Design System (formerly known as Project Neon) is coming to Xbox One and the interface should look more translucent and beautiful as a result of that. Well, the company also teased new Xbox Avatars in a virtual reality environment. If you remember correctly, a few months ago Microsoft announced that mixed reality devices would be coming to the “Xbox One family” in 2018. Well, it seems as though the new Xbox Avatars and added social spaces will be part of that update.

We don’t know much more than that about Xbox Avatars or the Xbox VR Room but we should have more details in the coming months. Who knows, maybe Phil Spencer will touch upon the topic at E3 2017. Lastly, Build is filled with amazing developers and in the spirit of mixed reality one of them created a working hologram of Cortana with her Halo 4 look. Build is an amazing conference so stay tuned to MSPoweruser for more information as soon as its reveled from the tantalizing event!
