Microsoft suggests Gmail users switch to Outlook.com for their Exchange ActiveSync fix

imageIn a blog post Microsoft professed surprise at Google’s move to drop Exchange ActiveSync support, but noted that this was an excellent opportunity to move to a better service, Outlook.com.

Calling POP and IMAP protocols so ancient it was invented before mobile phones, they noted that ActiveSync was only 10 years old and designed for Mobile from the start, meaning better battery life with Direct Push email and conservation of bandwidth.
