Windows Insiders in the Slow Ring are getting a new cumulative update which brings a whole bunch of new fixes. The update brings fixes from KB4022716, which was released last week to all Windows 10 Creators Update users — but Microsoft is releasing update KB4034450 to fix an issue which resulted in some laptops booting to a black screen.
Microsoft didn’t release any actual new build of Windows 10 to Windows Insiders in the Slow Ring for a while, which is why the company is releasing the cumulative update in order to keep users updated with the latest security patches and minor fixes. Windows Insiders in the Slow Ring will get a new build of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update sometime soon as Microsoft is currently testing a new phased rollout process for the Windows Insider program.
The new update targeting framework for Windows Insiders in the Slow Ring will result in new builds being released in different phases to Insiders == just like it does for regular Windows 10 feature updates. Windows Insiders in the Slow Ring can either wait for the update to arrive automatically on their PC, or they can manually check for updates to get the new build as soon as it’s released. Microsoft doesn’t seem to have any plans on bringing this new update system to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring, which is definitely quite assuring.
