Microsoft Q2 FY18 Earnings: Azure revenue grew 98%, premium services revenue grew triple digits

Microsoft today announced FY18 Q2 earnings results. The revenue was $28.9 billion and the operating income was $8.7 billion. Revenue in Intelligent Cloud was $7.8 billion and increased 15% (up 15% in constant currency), with the following business highlights:

Microsoft reported that Server products and cloud services revenue increased 18% (up 18% in constant currency) driven by strong Azure revenue growth of 98% (up 98% in constant currency). Microsoft highlighted that Azure compute usage doubled year over year.

Also, Azure premium services revenue continues to grow, it saw triple digits growth once again this quarter. Enterprise Mobility is a strong growth area for Microsoft and their installed base increased to 60 million already. Server products revenue including Windows and SQL server grew 4% (up 3% CC).
