Microsoft today announced its partnership with Cheetah Mobile, a leading Android app developer to distribute Cortana digital assistant to millions of Android devices. Cheetah Mobile has several popular apps in Play Store and it includes apps like Clean Master, CM Launcher 3D and Cheetah Keyboard.
As part of this partnership, Cheetah Mobile will first integrate Cortana into its CM Launcher 3D app. As a result of this integration, CM Launcher users will be able to enjoy several voice experiences like hands-free calls and translation services.
Fu Sheng, CEO of Cheetah Mobile, said: “Partnering with Microsoft fits perfectly with Cheetah’s mission to make the world smarter and power our mobile apps with AI technologies. CM Launcher is already the market leader in terms of personalization options, but now, with Cortana, we can bring more smart services to our users.”
“Our goal with Microsoft Cortana is to provide intelligent assistance to help people achieve more while doing less, across their work and personal lives. The integration of Cortana and CM Launcher allows more mobile users access to Cortana to help them get things done wherever they are. This represents just the first step in our partnership with Cheetah Mobile, as we hope to integrate Cortana into additional apps and launchers in the future,” said Jordi Ribas, corporate vice president of AI Products at Microsoft.
CM Launcher powered by Cortana will be available in the US, Britain, Canada and Australia from January, 2018.
