Microsoft today announced that they are renaming the Beam interactive game streaming service to ‘Mixer’. Along with the name change, Microsoft also announced several new features coming to this service. To celebrate the launch of Mixer, Microsoft has organized a full day of livestreaming fun at mixer.com/mixer. They will host a gaming marathon featuring a variety of streamers throughout the day. Some of the games that will part of this event include Forza Motorsport 6, For Honor, Rocket League, Gang Beasts and Overcooked. Microsoft Store locations will be celebrating Mixer’s launch with Forza Motorsport 6 tournaments, giveaways and more.

Microsoft will finally conclude the celebration with an event called Mixerworks. Mixerworks will be the world’s first livestreamed interactive fireworks show. Microsoft will let the audience choose what fireworks to set off. In order to set off your favorite firework, you need to earn Sparks by watching the streaming content on Mixer. Microsoft is doing this to showcase the unique interactive feature of Mixer. Mixer lets viewers directly control the environment in and around streamer’s broadcasts by letting viewers interact using a user interface. Mixerworks show begins at 9 p.m. PT.
