We have been asking Microsoft since the Windows Phone 7 days about delivering updates on time. Even though Microsoft continued to promise timely delivery of updates to Windows Phone devices, it never happened to due to network providers such as AT&T and Verizon. With Windows 10 Mobile, looks like Microsoft has found a way to bypass phone networks. Today, Microsoft delivered their first updates for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices on AT&T. This update was released directly by Microsoft. Terry Myerson from Windows team today confirmed that Windows 10 phones will receive updates same as PC in the future. This is a great news for Windows 10 phone customers as they will be getting updates for their phones on time.
