It looks like Microsoft is laying off some of the original Mixer staff today. Microsoft acquired Mixer around two years back and the company has been improving the service since then. However, Microsoft still falls behind streaming services like YouTube live and Twitch.
Now, popular host Kate Yeager who worked on Mixer Green show announced the end of the contract on Twitter today. The timing of the decision is a bit off since the Mixer team just got back from a long week at E3 where they had a dedicated dome showcasing the service.

Microsoft hasn’t released an official comment on the matter but we hope to hear from the company soon. While Mixer has certainly gained popularity in the past years, the service is still behind YouTube and Twitch in terms of users.
