Microsoft is expanding the capabilities of its Copilot assistant in Windows 11 with the introduction of Copilot Vision. The feature is now live for all Windows Insiders in the U.S. Using this, up to two application windows can be shared and analyzed by Copilot for contextual assistance. For instance, users can compare a personal packing list with an online version and ask Copilot to identify any discrepancies.

Additionally, a new “Highlights” feature has been introduced, offering step-by-step visual guidance within a single app window. By prompting Copilot with commands like “show me how,” users receive on-screen highlights indicating where to click to complete tasks. An example of this is to enable night mode in Settings or adding text in a video editing application.
These enhancements are part of Copilot app version 1.25044.92.0 and are being distributed through the Microsoft Store to all Insider Channels. While the rollout is currently limited to U.S.-based Insiders, broader availability is anticipated in the near future. Users can initiate Copilot Vision by clicking the glasses icon within the Copilot interface and selecting the desired application windows to share.
Microsoft also encouraged testers to give feedback on this feature, to help improve it and fix known bugs.
