You may not know this folks — not many people know this — but Microsoft has an app on Windows 10 for streaming media. You go to the store, you buy a movie and you can play it or stream it there. Nobody knows this.

It turns out the reason they don’t know this (or more likely, the reason they could care less about this ) is because Microsoft doesn’t support the two of the most used platforms on the market, iOS and Android. You can sell all the movies you want if the only way to watch them is on Windows PCs – we ain’t buying it — said the market. Microsoft has acquiesced, according to Window Central, the firm is working on building apps for iOS and Android to make it possible to buy and watch movies across all your devices. It only took them 5 years to make their movies and tv app an option for the mainstream.

Microsoft is also expected to be announcing Movies Anywhere support according to Windows Central’s sources.

Movies Anywhere is a service that allows users to buy movies from one media provider and play them on ay media providers in the service. I could purchase X-Men on Google Play Store, and then watch it on the Amazon app — or the Windows 10 Movies app soon if this report is to be believed.

Unlike the Movies and TV app announcement, this release is expected much sooner.
