Back in February, Microsoft first announced HoloLens 2 for the enterprise. Later, Microsoft announced the HoloLens 2 Development Edition based on the feedback from developers around the world.
During the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, Microsoft executive vice president Harry Shum has announced that HoloLens 2 will go on sale in September.HoloLens 2 Development Edition will be available only through the Mixed Reality Developer Program and it will include the following:
- HoloLens 2 mixed reality device
- $500.00 in Azure credits – To jump start your mixed reality development using Azure mixed reality services
- 3-month free trials of Unity Pro and the Unity PiXYZ Plugin for CAD data.
For enterprise customers, Microsoft is now offering two different ways to buy HoloLens 2 device. First, for $3500, an enterprise can buy a HoloLens 2 device. Second, they can buy HoloLens 2 with Dynamics 365 Remote Assist bundle starting at $125 per month.

Microsoft spokesperson gave the following statement regarding HoloLens 2 availability.
“As we announced in February, Microsoft HoloLens 2 will begin shipping later this year. We have started collecting expressions of interest for HoloLens 2 preorders and, as part of our standard practice for gathering feedback, have shared near-final prototypes with some customers, but have not announced a date for general availability.”
