The Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903) turned out to be quietly quite problematic, with hardware and software compatibility issues arising, with the main saving grace the slow and careful roll-out of the update.
Microsoft has now fixed some of the problems that were preventing installation and addressed three blocking issues, including:
- Loss of functionality in Dynabook Smartphone Link app
- Audio not working with Dolby Atmos headphones and home theatre
- Error attempting to update with external USB device or memory card attached
Microsoft report that “the issues are now resolved and the safeguard hold has been removed”, and to note that “it can take up to 48 hours before you can update to Windows 10, version 1903.”
