Microsoft is finally launching its first Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs, the Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7. That’s pretty much a big deal, especially for business consumers.
Set to release on February 18, 2025, these devices are powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake processors with x86 compatibility. Available only through Microsoft’s business storefront, the new models are priced from $1,499, significantly higher than their Snapdragon counterparts, which start at $1,099.
The Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 with Intel processors come with configurations up to Intel Core Ultra 7, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, along with anti-reflective screens, NFC, and a smart card reader for added security. The Surface Laptop 7 will also feature a 5G variant later this year.
While the Intel-powered versions share the same design as the previous Snapdragon models, they include key upgrades like improved display technology and new ports. The Intel versions offer better performance, including Intel Arc graphics and AI capabilities with Intel’s NPU, enabling Copilot+ features.
The Surface Laptop 7 is available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes, while the Surface Pro 11 offers a 13-inch display with both LCD and OLED options. The Intel models are also equipped with USB-C 4/Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Surface Connect port for charging, and better wireless capabilities, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Both Surface Laptop for Business and Surface Pro for Business come with a recommended price tag starting at $1,499.99.
Elsewhere in the announcement, Microsoft also said that it’s opening up the preview for Security Copilot in the Surface Management Portal on February 24 and launched the Surface USB4 Dock at $199.99.
