At Ignite 2018 Microsoft revealed the successors to the Surface Hub 2, the Surface Hub 2S which was set to come in 2019 and the Surface Hub 2X in 2020.

Microsoft, in partnership with Steelcase, has now sent out invitations to an event on the 17th April which is believed to be focused on that device.

The Surface Hub 2S will come with 50.5-inch display, 4K+ resolution and 3:2 Aspect Ratio. Microsoft also made sure to cut on bezels so Surface Hub 2 to have a better screen-to-body ratio. The company has also added 4K cameras, integrated speakers, and far-field mic arrays.

Even though the Surface Hub 2S will come with latest hardware, the software experience was expected to remain the same as the Surface Hub.

Mary Jo Foley from ZDNet, however, expects the presentation and collaboration device to run Microsoft 365 — Microsoft’s bundle of Windows 10, Office 365, and Enterprise Management + Security, and to support dynamic rotation, multi-user authentication, tiling and other features earlier believed to only come to the Surface Hub 2X in 2020.

Despite the April event being a Surface event, Mary Jo Foley does not expect any other devices to be shown off.
