Microsoft has entered the top 10 of Fortune’s annual list of Most Admired Companies at position number 9 zooming up 8 places from position 17 last year.
The list is based on a survey of 3,8000 executives, directors, and securities analysts who submitted a list of the 10 companies they admired most.
They survey was performed by Korn Ferry Hay Group and features the world’s highest revenue companies, and Forbes has been publishing it since 1997.
Microsoft is currently placed 9th overall and number 1 in the Computer Software category, having displaced Adobe, who is now number 2 in the Computer Software section.
Last year Microsoft was placed 17 and the year before 20, indicating continuing improvements in the company’s image under Satya Nadella.
The company scored particularly well in the perception of the quality of its management, financial soundness and global competitiveness, but it is notable that its weakest score is still the perception of the quality of its products, where it only scored 4 out of 10.
