On Tuesday, the Windows 10 August cumulative update was released; bringing security fixes for core Microsoft services including UWP Edge and Bluetooth.

Windowslatest found that installation of the Windows 10 KB4512508 cumulative update, as well as others, failed on some PCs with the May 2019 Update.

Microsoft has now acknowledged the problem, and have updated their support doc accordingly.

The company confirmed that users may be met with different error messages, some of which are vaguer than others:

Updates Failed, There were problems installing some updates, but we’ll try again later.

Generic error codes including Error 0x800f0982 and Error 0x80073701 are also coming up, but they don’t pinpoint the exact problem.

No solution is available as of yet, but Microsoft has confirmed they are investigating the issue and will publish a fix in the upcoming update.
