Following a major new redesign recently, Microsoft is releasing a pretty sweet update for Bing on Android. Bing has picked up a major update on Android, adding some interesting new features. The latest update brings a new feature called 360 Search which uses your device’s camera to show nearby places such as restaurants, shopping malls, etc. The feature is a lot like the City Lens feature from HERE Maps on Lumia phones — so if you have used a Windows Phone device in the past, this feature will be quite familiar to you.
In addition to 360 Search, the latest update also introduces a dedicated new Music page to the Bing app. As you may have already guessed, the new Music tab shows the trending songs and the trending artists on Bing. There’s also a song identifier feature which simply allows you to detect a song that’s playing around you right now.
Microsoft is also adding a new Events page, similar to Facebook Events which allows you to find the upcoming events near you. For example, Bing will be able to show you the upcoming concerts near you, or sports game schedules. The update lastly brings a new Lottery page which displays the winning numbers, drawing schedules and jackpots.
If you are an Android user and you use Bing, you can download the latest update for Bing from the Google Play Store here.
