Microsoft recently unveiled several improvements to Microsoft Edge for Business at its Build conference. These updates has security, increased AI integration, and improved productivity functionalities.

Edge for Business is gaining new features to imporve data protection. Expanded screenshot prevention saves sensitive information on both the browser and within the Copilot sidebar by blocking attempts to capture screenshots.

Additionally, improved document protection restricts access to and screen capture of sensitive Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files based on pre-defined security labels.

IT administrators will benefit from a simplified browser management system which now has a unified view of Edge instances across the organization. Furthermore, Microsoft is extending Defender for Cloud Apps (MDA) protection to Edge sessions on unmanaged devices, providing an additional layer of security.

The Edge management service now offers a centralized location to manage access to both public and internal AI services, including Copilot.

A noteworthy feature is real-time video translation. This AI-powered tool translates video content into the user’s preferred language through subtitles or audio dubbing, eliminating language barriers and expanding accessibility to online video resources.

Workspaces are expanding beyond desktops with a mobile preview coming soon for Android devices. This will allow users to access and manage their workspaces while on the move. Another productivity enhancement is tab auto-grouping, which uses AI to automatically categorize open tabs into color-coded groups based on theme.
