Microsoft announces Surface Complete for Education warranty

Microsoft today announced a new warranty plan for Surface devices. The new plan is for schools and educational institutions and Microsoft likes t o call it the “Surface Complete for Education” warranty. With the Surface Complete for Education warranty, Surface devices bought by schools and educational institutions will include accidental damage protection which will allow schools to replace their Surface devices in case it gets damaged accidentally. The new warranty program also provides support which will allow schools to get started with their Surface devices very quickly:
- Claims sharing across your institution. Whether it’s a school district, department, or classroom – we’ve got you covered. Your accidental damage claims are grouped together so you can spend less time managing claims and more time on what matters, using your Surface to learn.
- The Onboarding Desk to help you get up and running smoothly. You’ll have access to our Smart Start resources – custom content for your institution on how to use your Surface device and Windows 10, along with how to submit a claim and other FAQs.
- Live online or onsite training designed with your institution in mind. You’ll walk away from this training feeling more confident and comfortable with your new Surface.
Surface Complete for Education’s prices start at $225 for the Surface Pro 4, and $359 for the Surface Book. According to Microsoft, the new Surface Complete for Education program will be available starting tomorrow for K-12 and Higher-Ed institutions in the United States.
