At SharePoint Virtual Summit earlier this year, Microsoft announced the new SharePoint communication sites. A SharePoint communication site is a great place to share information with others mainly inside an organization. You can share news, reports, statuses, and other information in a visually compelling format. SharePoint communication sites can also embed documents and video, and pull in real-time data from across Office 365, including documents from SharePoint, Power BI reports, Microsoft Stream videos and Yammer discussions.

Microsoft yesterday announced the support for communication sites on SharePoint mobile apps. As communication sites are mobile-friendly out of the box, audience will be able to enjoy the content on their mobile device without any issues.

Communication sites are rolling out gradually to all organizations around the world. The updated SharePoint mobile app for iOS (version 3.0) is now available in App Store and for Android (version 2.0) is now available in public beta, general availability is expected in August.
