Despite a steep decline in the PC market, Microsoft is still expected to gain more market share with its tablets and 2 in 1 convertibles. Thanks to devices like the highly anticipated and well received Surface Pro 4 and other premium offerings from other OEMs, Microsoft’s share of the tablet market has been on the steady rise since the beginning of this year, and with the holiday season ahead should claim about 10% worldwide of that market share, or around 22 million devices. According to Strategic Analysis:

As the enterprise market becomes increasingly open to the wide scale deployment of Tablet platforms, Microsoft has a key advantage in that its operating systems are found on the vast majority of PC and servers within the enterprise, potentially providing a smoother integration of Tablets using the Windows OS into the enterprise.

Even more Windows is expected to continue its growth well into the next few years, with projections of a 19% market share by 2019.
